Dr. Emily Kobayashi is a full-time surgeon and founder of Yakima General Surgery. She is clinical faculty and guest lecturer for the Pacific Northwest University School of Medicine and clinical faculty for Washington State University School of Medicine.
After graduating in the top 10% of her class from Loma Linda University in 2015, Dr. Kobayashi completed her general surgery residency at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle. Dr. Kobayashi has practiced broad-spectrum general surgery in rural settings since her graduation and her practice includes minimally invasive techniques and endoscopy.
When not operating, Dr. Kobayashi is raising her two children and two foster children, restoring her 1930s Craftsman house in the Barge-Chestnut historic district, rock climbing, running, playing piano, and brushing up on her German in preparation for applying for German citizenship. Dr. Kobayashi’s husband, Dr. Akira Kobayashi, is the director of Yakima Men’s Clinic. They are members of Memorial Bible Church in Gleed.
